About
This site helps employees in South Korea, and foreign employees evaluating a Korean job offer, understand their estimated take-home pay. It is a static website: every calculation runs locally in your browser.
Why this exists
Korean take-home pay depends on an intertwined set of social-insurance contributions and a simplified wage-income withholding table, which is difficult to compute by hand. This calculator applies those official rules to produce a reliable estimate.
Who it's for
Employees in Korea, job seekers comparing offers, and foreign employees, expats, English teachers, researchers, and engineers reviewing a Korean salary offer.
Data principles
- Rates, contribution rules, and the withholding table are sourced only from official Korean government and public-agency data (National Pension Service, National Health Insurance Service, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Employment and Labor, National Tax Service).
- No rate or tax amount is invented or approximated.
- If an official figure cannot be verified, the result is blocked or clearly disclosed rather than guessed.
See the methodology page for calculation details and the privacy page for how data is handled.
